The atmosphere was joyful at the fourth matriculation ceremony of Grundtvig Polytechnic, Oba, Anambra State on Friday, 11th October 2024. Joining us to formally induct the students were parents and guardians of the students, officials of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and the State Ministry of Education, as well as friends and well-wishers.
The Rector, Engr. Dr. Innocent Nsionu, in his address, urged the matriculants to be excited as the forthcoming years would bring pleasant experiences, emphasizing that for students to navigate the higher institution with profound excellence they must imbibe the traits of Objectivity, Perseverance, Humility, Study Group, Go-beyond-borders, Management of time, and Attention to Health, amongst others. The Director of the NBTE Southeast Zone, Engr. Mrs. Ngozi Okelekwe, encouraged Polytechnics to engage in the innovative Open Distance and Flexible E- Learning (ODFEL) to provide the opportunity for institutions to increase their carrying capacity for students who are unable to be enrolled full-time to get tertiary education. While the Honorable Commissioner for Education in her address, presented by Mr Chike Chikwe, the Principal Officer of Technical Education for the Anambra State Ministry of Education, confirmed that Grundtvig Polytechnic is duly accredited by both the Anambra State and Federal Governments as evidence that the academics and skills offered by the Polytechnic are in line with the required standards.
In her closing remarks, the Registrar, Mrs. Chioma Nwoji thanked the invited guests of honour, members of the Grundtvig Polytechnic Governing Council, staff, parents, friends, students and associates of the Polytechnic for their loyalty and unwavering support towards the institution, and wished the matriculants success in their studies.
