HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA

ADMISSION INTO

Higher National Diploma (HND) Programme

You must follow the process listed below if you are interested in studying the Grundtvig Polytechnic’s Higher National Diploma (HND) programme. Please click on each to view the complete information.

Candidates must possess:

  • 1. The basic requirements for admission into the ND programme of the course they wish to pursue at the HND level as contained in the NBTE revised entry requirements for ND programmes in Nigerian Polytechnics and Monotechnics.

  • 2. National Diploma (ND) with a minimum of lower credit in their preferred course/relevant programme obtained from Grundtvig Polytechnic or any other recognized higher institution.

  • 3. Evidence of a minimum of one (1) year post ND cognate work experience.

  • 4. ND diplomats with a pass (CGPA of 2.00-2.49) and industrial experience of not less than two (2) years in the specific field may be considered for admission into the HND programme.

Option A (Online Application)

  • 1. Interested applicants are required to pay a non-refundable Application form fee of ten thousand naira (N10,000) to Grundtvig Polytechnic First Bank Account Number: 2034370922.

  • 2. Applicants click here to complete the HND online application form. The link to the form is also available under the Admission tab on this website. Please note that your bank payment teller/receipt must be uploaded along with other credentials specified on the portal.

  • 3. Qualified applicants are issued an offer of Provisional Admission Letter after submission of the duly completed application form.

Option B (Offline Application)

  • 1. Interested applicants are required to pay a non-refundable Application form fee of ten thousand naira (N10,000) to Grundtvig Polytechnic First Bank Account Number: 2034370922.

  • 2. Applicants visit the Bursary unit (Reception) of the school to collect the HND application form and submit the duly completed form (Please, attach evidence of payment).

  • 3. Qualified applicants are issued an offer of Provisional Admission Letter after submission of the duly completed application form.

Candidates pay:

  • 1. Acceptance Fee of N15,000.00

  • 2. Screening Fee of N2,000.00

  • 3. Pay to: Grundtvig Polytechnic, First Bank Account Number: 2034370922

Evidence of payment & Confirmation of provisional admission:

  • 1. Candidates visit the Admission Offices of the Grundtvig Polytechnic with evidence of payment of the Acceptance fee and Screening fee for physical screening of their credentials. (Find below the requirements for the screening exercise).

  • 2. Successfully screened candidates will be issued a Confirmation of Provisional Admission letter, enabling them to pay their school fees to the above mentioned school account.

Visit to Portal:

  • 1. After payment of school fees, candidates visit Grundtvig Polytechnic’s portal (www.gpolyportal.com) to register their details and obtain their registration number contained in a printout generated after successful online registration. (Please, attach the official receipt of payment of school fees from the Bursary unit).

  • 2. Candidates submit a copy of the printout obtained in 1 above, evidence of payment of prescribed fees, confirmation of Admission letter and photocopies of their credentials for documentation at the Exams and Records unit.

  • 3. Office of the Exams and Records issues Course registration forms to successful candidates.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS INTO

HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA (HND)

HND Screening & Registration.

1. Receipt of payment for the purchase of the form.

2. Original and three (3) photocopies of the National Diploma (ND) result.

3. Evidence of post ND cognate work experience.

4. Original and three (3) photocopies of the Receipt of Payment of the Acceptance Fee and Processing Fee.

5. Original and three (3) photocopies of O’Level SSCE, NECO, WAEC, NABTEB etc. Certificate(s) and online result printout.

6. Original and three (3) photocopies of Birth Certificate, Affidavit of Declaration of Age

7. Original and three (3) photocopies of Evidence of Change of Name (if applicable)

8. Original and three (3) photocopies of Identification, Certificate of Local Government of Origin

9. Original and three (3) photocopies of Medical Report of Fitness (visit the Polytechnic Clinic for collection of Medical Examination Form)

10. Original and three (3) photocopies of a letter of reference from a person of reputable standing in the society (e.g. Clergyman, Senior Public Servant, Notary public) vouching for your good behavior.

11. Four (4) Recent Passport Sized Photographs.

How to Apply

b. Applicants complete the HND application form on our website OR visit the Polytechnic to obtain and complete a hardcopy application form. 
c. Qualified applicants are issued an offer of Provisional Admission Letter after submission of the duly completed application form.
3. Acceptance:
a. Candidates pay an Acceptance Fee of N15,000 and a Screening Fee of N2,000 to: Grundtvig Polytechnic, First Bank Account Number: 2034370922.
4. Screening:
a. Candidates visit the Admission Offices of the Grundtvig Polytechnic with evidence of payment of the Acceptance fee and Screening fee for physical screening of their credentials. 
5. Registration:
a. Successfully screened candidates will be issued a Confirmation of Provisional Admission letter, enabling them to pay their school fees and register as bonafide students.
